Description
Our farm is 160 acres situated on the banks of Deercreek in SW Pickaway Co. We are mostly devoted to conservation with prairies, wetlands, CREP, 20 acres of hardwood forest and two ponds. We grow about 900 feet of asparagus which we have for personal, family, and friends' use. We grow herbs, mostly to make medicinal preparations such as teas, tinctures and salves. A lot of the herbs we use are also wildcrafted from the abundance of wild herbs on the farm. We have a large vegetable garden from which we eat the whole season plus put up a lot of food for the winter. We do rotational planting with cover crops and natural (straw) mulching. Since we have aged into late 70s, our farm has become a sanctuary for native plants and animals--kind of a "habitat farm." Visitors are welcome.
